They are a four speed clutch that produce 14 h.p. They were advertised as the worlds most powerful minicycle. Since they were 509.00 it took several years to sell off the remainder of the 200 bikes. They appear to have been the most expensive minicycle of the time. They were only produced for one year in 1970 with the unsold ones having stickers on the tanks to change the year and sell them off through 1974. World's most powerful minicycle! Benelli imported 200 of these from Italy in 1970 with Cosmopolitan Motors being the sole US importer. I never got around to doing this so I am hoping that someone else needs these wheels for their restoration. I purchased this bike a few months ago with a plan to restore it back to the original state. This is a mint little 60's or 70's vintage running and stopping bike that are getting much harder to find. Believed to be original briggs motor that's been degreased, rebuilt carb and repainted.
Better than new original disc brake setup with new brake pucks and cable. Mint original mercury clutch with original chrome clutch cover and new#35 chain. Original seat base, hardware, foam and top insert with a new side panel sewn in. Awesome front and rear original 4" mag wheels mounted on nice used original general tires with all new precision sealed wheel bearings. No rewelds on frame with one coat of primer and one coat of metallic blue spray painted over original blue.
